Ingredients + Freshness

Is everything made fresh?

Absolutely! Everything is made to order. We don’t bake ahead or hold inventory.

What ingredients do you use?

Real, high‑quality ingredients chosen for flavor and performance — not shortcuts or fillers.

Why is everything sourdough-based?

Sourdough is foundational here — for its signature flavor, texture, and quality. It relies on time, planning, and hands‑on work, not commercial yeast or mass production.

Why does sourdough take so long?

Good sourdough can’t be rushed. Our baked goods take anywhere from 36 to 72 hours from bowl to bake. That time is what creates depth of flavor and texture - and it's very intentional.

Preorders + Online Ordering

Why is preorder required?

We're a small‑batch, sourdough‑based bakery which means dough is planned days in advance. Preorders let us prioritize fermentation, quality, and consistency — not speed or volume.

How does preorder work?

Preorders open on the Online Ordering tab Saturday 1pm EST and close Tuesday 1pm, once the window ends or items sell out.

Can I change my order after its placed?

Please double‑check your order before submitting. Unfortunately once baking begins, changes aren’t guaranteed.

Do you offer custom orders or special requests?

Limited custom orders may be offered occasionally, depending on timing and availability. Send us an inquiry on the Contact Us page!

Will you have any extras available at pickup?

Occasionally if the baking bug bites hard. But these are occasional goodies available for purchase and will not always be available.

Pickup, Payment + Pricing

When and where is pickup?

Pick-up is on Saturday mornings in East Berlin, CT. The pick-up address will be provided after placing your order.

Can someone else pickup my order?

Yes — just make sure they have the pickup name and order details.

Why is pickup only during a specific time?

Pickup windows are scheduled intentionally to keep items fresh and food‑safe.

What if I miss my pickup?

Because items are perishable and made specifically for you, missed pickups aren’t eligible for refunds or replacements.

Can prices change?

Yes. Pricing reflects ingredient quality and seasonality, which is subject to change.

Refunds, Cancellations + Changes

Can I cancel my order?

Cancellations aren’t guaranteed once an order is placed. If something comes up, reach out as early as possible.

What if you need to cancel an order?

In rare cases (illness, weather, or supply issues), you’ll be notified and refunded as soon as possible.

Why don't you offer refunds?

Orders are baked just for you and can’t be resold once made.

Food Safety + Storage

If your kitchen allergen-free?

No. We are a kitchen that regularly uses wheat, gluten, milk, eggs, butter, nuts, peanuts, soy, and other common allergens. Cross‑contact is always possible.

Do you offer gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, or nut-free options?

Not at this time. But we are exploring other options.

How should I store my items?

Specific tips are included where helpful. In general: enjoy fresh, or freeze promptly. If keeping on the counter, we recommend beeswax storage wraps to keep items fresh for longer. These are for sale on our Online Ordering page.

All products are perishable and should be handled and stored properly after pickup. Once items leave our care, we are not responsible for improper storage, handling, or consumption beyond recommended timeframes.
